Tasting Date: 11 November 2008

A “Jekyll and Hide” wine that shows a tension between sweet and sour. Sweet fruit flavours combat the obvious herbal, cedar, and tea leaves notes. Definitely indicative of the ’00 season which was cool and wet. The palate weight and texture work well. A complex wine that will attract no end of debate: see wine advocate tasting note below.

Wine Advocate: 2000 Felton Road Pinot Noir Block 3 85 points.

A very intense, animally nose: roasted chestnuts and burnt toast with green peppers underneath. Medium-bodied palate. Very rustic, slightly roasted and charred in texture with a dry, linear finish. What went awry? Past its best. Tasted January 2008.
