1997 Chardonnay Barrel Fermented

Tasting Date: 28 October 2011

Colour: Golden. The wine is still very much alive which exceeded our expectations. A complex array of dry hay, caramelised fruit and nut aromas. These aromas follow through on the palate with the lively acidity keeping the wine tightly framed. Still surprisingly fresh. Drink.

Tasting Date: 20 April 2006

Colour: pure golden straw. A rich nose of caramel and roasted stonefruit. A rich and full palate, not at all tired: crisp acid underlies caramelised peaches with lemon, honey and toasted hazelnuts. We prefer not to make comparisons with Burgundy, but this could easily be Meursault from the mid 90’s. Right at the peak now, certainly not in decline.
