2015 Riesling Bannockburn

Aromas of lychee and bright tropical fruit abound on the nose supported with ginger and cardamom. The palate leads with a mouth coating sweetness that’s immediately tempered by luxurious fruit and a vibrant acidity. A classically balanced wine of sweet fruit journeying to a well-proportioned mouth-watering freshness. The crisp and zesty finish offers a surprisingly drying sensation.

Wine Advocate, Lisa Perrotti-Brown, December 2015

The 2015 Bannockburn Riesling has a reticent nose at this youthful stage with subtle notes of lemon juice, fresh limes, honeysuckle and orange blossom with a touch of chalk dust. Medium-dry with tight-knit honeyed citrus flavors and wonderful freshness, it finishes with mineral nuances. 89+ Points.

Cellar Talk, Bob Campbell MW, February 2016

Felton Road is best known for its supremely elegant Pinot Noir, but in my view, Riesling deserves line honours. This very concentrated wine has green apple, rose petal and lime citrus flavours, with a suggestion of bush honey. It’s quite sweet but beautifully balanced by juicy acidity to give the wine an exquisite tension. Terrific now but with the potential to transform into a more mellow and possibly complex wine with bottle age. (Screw cap). 96 Points, 5 Stars.
