Colour: Golden. The fruits are ripe and somewhat non-descript, perhaps best described as dried stonefruit. You can also expect honey, butterscotch and flint on the nose. There is a viscous entry to this wine with the acidity providing a tapered and lingering finish. This is mature and delicious but still surprisingly tight overall.

Colour medium gold. Nose of ripe developed stone fruit, toffee. On the palate this is much more developed than the 1998, which is to be expected of the 1999 vintage. Sumptuous, oily texture leads to crisp acid balancing a rich, fully mature palate. The fruit is still full, forward and prominent, but its evolution is now complete and will be interesting to see where this wine will go. Delicious drinking now as a full, mature Chardonnay.
