Tasting Date: 14 November 2008
Vibrant and expressive. Secondary notes that continue to show in the glass. A complex nose of fruit, spice and herbs. On the palate – a great core of fruit with impressive weight, with the signature counterpoint of crushed herbs and chocolate mocha. Again there is purity to the flavourrs, and the silky nature of the tannins results in a supple and textured wine. Drink / Hold Wine Advocate: 2004 Felton Road Pinot Noir Block 3 95 points
This has a wonderfully defined nose with notes of wild strawberry, minerals, plum, a little mocha and espresso. The palate is full-bodied, lovely supple red-berried fruits, good acidity, a graceful, elegance about its. Sensuous, and silky in texture, lovely lush strawberry and cherry flavoured finish. A gorgeous, feminine Block 3 that really shows the heights that Pinot Noir can achieve in New Zealand. Drink now-2020. Tasted January 2008.CLICK HERE TO JOIN OUR MAILING LIST
