November 2024 – Jancisrobinson.com, Julia Harding MW, 18 Mid crimson. Deeply and enticingly rich if not yet charming. Finely spiced dark-red fruit. Dark-red fruit on the palate, already velvety in texture, the tannins running deep like the flavour. Beautifully balanced for the long term, if you can resist it now. Elegantly dark on the finish. Restrained wood with floral, dried herb and mineral complexity over a core of concentrated black fruit. Unquestionable elegance married to remarkable power, the intensely flavoursome palate unfolds in stages of savoury, fruit and floral, all kept in check by reasonably firm, ripe tannins with flashes of rosemary. Astounding complexity in a poised package. Medium-bodied but very long, this wine is all about the back-palate; there is plenty of matter here and it’s currently very young. Despite the sheer concentration in evidence, this has impeccable balance and should age gracefully over the coming decade without losing its finesse. Drink: 2025 – 2044 November 2024 – JamesSucking.com, James Suckling, 97 Points Sophisticated and pure aromas of wild raspberries, fresh strawberries, potpourri and blood oranges. The palate is medium-bodied with seamless tannins and fine acidity, giving note of dark cherries, wet bark and graphite. Tightly wound and focused. Drink or hold. Screw cap.
