2022 Pinot Noir Bannockburn

Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy Jane Skilton MW March 2024 ***** 95

Deep colour. Fruit sits firmly in the blue spectrum; bilberry and damson plum. Some dried thyme too. Opulent, fruit saturated flavours are silky and ripe at first then tannins sweep in to give a fine powdery veneer across the palate. Lacks the layered complexity of the single vineyard pinots but instead is a delightful expression of pinot, that will be approachable in the medium term. Drink from 2025 – 2030. Tasted: December 2023.

Succulent red berries on the nose, with green undergrowth adding complexity. Delicious smokiness on the palate, and effortless persistence. Has substance without being over-charged. The essence of Pinot. (RH) 14% Drink 2024 – 2028

Deliciously fragrant and intense floral aroma that follows on to the palate where it is joined by cassis, dark cherry, black Doris plum, vanilla, savoury dried herbs and mixed spice and anise flavours. This could is the best Bannockburn pinot noir that I can recall tasting. It has an ethereal texture and a backbone of fine tannins. Absolutely delicious wine!

2022 Chardonnay Bannockburn

March 2024 **** 94

Pretty, lighter toned aromatics with a floral, citrus lift. Palate has a faint grippy textural edge that gives a particularly attractive, savoury, almost amaro grip that is very appealing. Subtle layers of flavour that unfurl with time in the glass. Definitely the most approachable of the three but still offers plenty of potential to develop further. Drink from 2025- 2030. Tasted: December 2023.

The 2022 Chardonnay Bannockburn sits in a lovely ripeness bracket, offering up finesse and focus with just enough creamy richness built through the mid-palate. It is restrained and savory with subtle nutty nuances and white-fleshed stoned fruit. Elegant, concentrated – I’m very impressed. A little more length would elevate it further, but this is a great value for the money. It’s a silky Chardonnay that Burgundy lovers would be delighted to have in their glass. Drinking Window: 2024-2029

Intense chardonnay with salty mineral, oyster shell, citrus, white flower and ginger the most prominent flavours in this taut, mouth-watering wine.Impressive purity, high energy and bright acidity with a lingering finish. It gives a nod in the direction of Chablis.
